Chandigarh Congress councillor files complaint against Gadkari

CHANDIGARH: A criminal defamation complaint was filed against the Bhartiya Janata Party president Nitink Gadkari in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Chandigarh Barjinderpal Singh. January 9, 2011 has been fixed the date for recording the preliminary evidence.
The complaint has been filed against Gadkari by local Congress councillor Chandermukhi Sharma for his remarks against the Congress that the convicted and condemned terrorist Afzal Guru was the son in law of the Congress.
The complaint has been filed under section 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code.
It is learnt that a similar criminal complaint was filed against Gadkari in Chennai also. The move is reportedly aimed at countering his criminal defamation case filed against the Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari.
The party high command is learnt to have asked the Pradesh Congress Committees to examine all the statements and cases where it amounts to criminal defamation.
Similarly the party is learnt to be now vigorously pursuing the cases against former RSS Chief K Sudershan for his remarks and wild allegations against the party president Sonia Gandhi.
