CHANDIGARH : For Keerti of MCM College for Women, Yoga is not just a professed art but a way of living. Words fall short to describe her chart of remarkable achievements as they begin from the age of ten. Six times national Champion, Keerti won her first position in Yoga World Championship held in Portugal , Europe. In 2005, she won silver medal in the World Championship held in Talkatora Stadium, Delhi. For her outstanding accomplishments she has been felicitated by the DC, Panchkula on the Republic Day, four times consecutively. She participated in the State level Yoga Championship held at Kurukshetra and won the gold medal. Furhermore, she was selected for the National Championship in Goa where she won Gold medals in Yoga Aasana and Artistic Yoga and Bronze Medal in Rhythmic Prayer Yoga.
Adding another feather in her cap, she has now been selected for the World Yoga Championship to be held in Argentina and the Asian Yoga Championship to be held in Pattaya, Thailand in 2011. An international player she is an asset to the institution. The college is encouraging her potential by giving her a scholarship of Rs. 40,000/- that will help her to polish her talent.
The Principal of the College, DR. Puneet Bedi congratulated the six times National Champion on her noteworthy feat and blessed her to scale greater heights. She added that MCM is proud to have such gifted students and the college shall encourage them to hone their skills further.
